Nottingham

Hello There,
I went to Nottingham,
My cousin was studying there and we pay her a visit, the city is lovely the temperature is lower than in London.
The travel by train takes 2 hours long, the view of the countryside and of the Ratcliffe-on-Soar power station is very interesting.

We stayed at De Vere Hotel
Wow, very nice and wasn't expensive.

What we did there?
We had lunch at Tamatanga indian restaurant
I love it, very well served portions well cooked and beautiful place!
I wish we had it in London.

We visit
Nottingham Castle

It is located in a commanding position on a natural promontory known as "Castle Rock", with cliffs 130 feet (40 m) high to the south and west. In the Middle Ages it was a major royal fortress and occasional royal residence. In decline by the 16th century, it was largely demolished in 1649, with the Duke of Newcastle later building a mansion on the site. This was burnt out by rioters in 1831 and left as a ruined shell by the Dukes; later being adapted to create an art gallery and museum, which the building is still used as today. Little of the original castle survives, but sufficient portions remain to give an impression of the layout of the site.
Robin Hood  is a heroic outlaw in English folklore, and was also a highly skilled archer and swordsman. Although such behaviour was not part of his original character, since the beginning of the 19th century he has become known for "robbing from the rich and giving to the poor", assisted by a group of fellow outlaws known as his "Merry Men". Traditionally, Robin Hood and his men are depicted wearing Lincoln green clothes. The origin of the legend is asserted by some to have been actual outlaws, or ballads or tales of outlaws.

Wollaton Hall

In 2011, key scenes from the Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises were filmed outside Wollaton Hall.
The Hall was featured as the latest Wayne ManorThe Hall is five miles north of Gotham, Nottinghamshire where Gotham City got its name.

City of Caves

A visitor attraction in Nottingham which consists of a network of caves, carved out of sandstone that have been variously used over the years as a tannery, public house cellars, and as an air raid shelter.

Beneath the houses, shops and offices of Nottingham lie hundreds of caves. Few people in Nottingham are aware of this labyrinth, which exists underneath the city streets, and fewer still have visited them. Nottingham has more man-made caves than anywhere else in Britain. People have worked and lived in them for over 1,000 years.
The attraction has been run by the Galleries of Justice since 2004 and is accessed from the upper mall of the Broadmarsh Centre.
The University of Nottingham

This place is impressive the university has everything hair dresser, gym, Starbuks. Is like city they have a lot of facilities for the students.

Ye Olde Trip To Jerusalem (The Trip),

Partially built into the cave system beneath Nottingham Castle, is a contender for the title of "England's Oldest Pub" due to its supposed establishment in 1189

London is so busy and cosmopolitan , This place is very calm and peaceful I felt like "I am in England".
Was very nice!
Bye see you next post!
